Speech Title: Next-generation cloud computing architecture and intelligent scheduling system
Speech Abstract: Since the advent of cloud computing, elastic computing (EC) has become a standard architecture for resource allocation and scheduling. EC usually allocates computing resources based on predefined flavor specifications, such as virtual machines or containers. However, these features are usually limited by a fixed CPU-memory ratio and usually fail to meet the actual resource requirements of applications. As a result, cloud service providers' resource allocation rates are close to saturation (greater than 80%), but utilization is low (less than 25%). This study introduces Flexible Computing (FC), a new resource allocation and scheduling approach. Unlike elastic computing EC, FC allocates resources based on application resource usage, which is derived from the actual resource consumption of the workload, rather than relying on fixed flavor specifications.
